Folks, if you’ve been following along with Trump’s 100 day report card you already know that he has begun to collapse in the polls.
But I want to make sure you understand just how much he is collapsing, and how much worse things will soon get for him.
First off, his report card from voters is dismal.
Trump has already shaved double digits off his “good for the economy” numbers, and this is before the effects of Trump’s Trade War really hit.
Independents have yuge buyer’s remorse.
And although “Liberation Day” was a few weeks ago, the effects of the Trump tariffs are just starting.
This is the S&P 500 returns for the first 100 days.
And here is the Dow Jones
I mean just look at what Trump has done to value of the dollar. All of this in just 100 days from an economy set to grow at 3%!
U.S. Ports are seeing dramatic drops in imports and UPS is laying off drivers over the expected impacts of Trump’s tariffs. Its a slow moving tsunami that hit Wall Street first, but is coming for Main Street next.
Consumer sentiment has collapsed and Americans brace for a Trumpcession, which by the way economists are now warning may be the very worst kind of recession: stagflation. Stagflation means both high interest rates AND high unemployment.
That’s probably why so many Americans are bracing for the effects.
The top word voters use to describe Trump 2.0? Chaotic.
And even Fox News is trying to ring the alarm bell. Democrats have one message and one message only they need to pound between now and election day 2026: Trump made you broke.
In fact, Trump’s approval is the lowest approval rating in 80 years. By the way, that’s the entire history of polling!
So friends, we may all be about to go broke BUT the silver lining is: so is the rest of America.
Trump single handily shifted the Canadian electorate from their traditional “time for a change” preferences into reelecting the liberal party to another 4 year term.
Along with rejection of Trump’s dumbass tariffs, no one voted for MAGA’s crazy shit. I talk a lot about how Democrats tend not to understand how much more informed and engaged they are compared to the average American voter. Well, so do Republicans. Online Republicans have grossly misinterpreted Trump’s win in 2024 as a mandate for Project 2025, but they could not have been more mistaken.
Of Trump’s 75 million voters only about 40 million of them are bat shit crazy cultists. The other 30 million are tuned out swing voters who just wanted cheap shit and believed Trump when he said he would lower prices DAY ONE.
You can see this reflected in the polling data:
And that, my friend, is why Democrats have already pulled into the lead on the generic ballot for 2026. The last time we saw this was in 2018 but we’re seeing it now in his honeymoon.
My assumption is that by next year Democrats will hold a double digit advantage on the generic ballot.
In 2018 that was enough for Democrats to gain 40 House seats.
I’m working hard to make sure we beat that in 2026.
On a side note: 56% of Democrats and even 17% of Republicans now see Trump as a dangerous dictator. Better late than never.
The silver lining to economic collapse is that it wakes people up to oppose Trump who might have never noticed he was taking their freedoms away until it was too late.
HOW do we deal, both now and the future, with people who WON'T learn what's important BEFORE they vote? I'm a pointy headed info gal...I quite literally DON'T KNOW HOW to communicate with people who aren't into information, don't know what good sources of information even are, and may even resent people who know a lot of stuff?
