Rachel,

Thanks for doing this podcast. Because of you, I knew Tom Bonier’s and Simon’s analysis was not wish casting. My friends thought that I was nuts!

I want to hear your thoughts, but don’t have time to listen to 29 minute conversations. I wish that you would write opinion pieces that I could read in 5 minutes.

“DocC” here for the first time!

I’ve been thinking about “voting” lately using as many tool at hand as possible: binoculars (for our two party system); a stereoscope (3Dview); microscope, telescope, periscope, (for when they are “under water”), and maybe even a horoscope, in scientific desperation!

It “looks” to me like all this focus on voting is a red herring. The real issue is the “consent of ‘the People ‘“. What would the U.S. look like with majority rule? How many voting days, hours, weeks of voting would it take for 75% to rule? All these layers of construction of lines and cracks for exploitation, have a function and an object, as in shiny. In many countries The People walk miles to Vote on just the one important day, Election Day. Im all for convenience, I’m 81, but keep our eyes on the prize - true democracy! One Person: One Vote! Remove the Electoral College of thieves for good! Hurrah!

Thank you for the podcast. I have faith in the grassroots activists, GenZ, and moderate Republicans/Independents who reject the extremism of Maga. I remain unconvinced that Democratic strategists/leadership have any understanding of how far off the rails our democracy is. Perhaps the new Democratic leadership in the House will be more proactive and incisive in messaging, but once again 1) no legislation to stop Congressional stock trading, 2) no vote on the Electoral Count Act, 3) no vote on a bill to strengthen antitrust legislation. We averted total catastrophe, but I remain very skeptical.
